IFTTT Integration

IFTTT allows you to connect your Hubitat Elevation to other IFTTT-compatible devices and services and create "if this, then that" rules to automate them. Use the Hubitat IFTTT integration app to get connected.

Getting started requires enabling devices in the Hubitat IFTTT app, then connecting your account to Hubitat in IFTTT.com

The Z-Wave poller app corrects a polling issue with certain Z-Wave devices that do not display their state properly. The only affects select non-plus Z-wave devices. To determine if your Z-Wave device is a candidate for Z-Wave poller, active your device manually and while you watch your logs. If the device does not register a change of stat in the logs, it is a candidate for Z-Wave Poller. If the device does register a change in the logs, there is no need to use the Poller.

It is recommended to use a Hue Bridge when connecting Hue bulbs to Hubitat Elevation™. Even though Hue bulbs use a zigbee connection and can talk directly to your hub, you will find the best performance when using the bridge. Once connected through the Hue Bridge Integration app, your bulbs can be used in any of our rule-building apps.

The first step is to configure your Hue Bridge and Hue Bulbs in your Hue mobile app or online at meet hue.com.

To connect your hue bridge:

Life 360 is a recommended smartphone app for staying connected with your family. Hubitat Elevation™ can use your Life 360 account to detect your presence and automatically change modes or turn devices on or off when family member come and go. Here’s how to get connected.

Start by downloading the Life 360 App on your phone. If you already have an account, skip to the next section.
#Visit www.life360.com on your smartphone.
#Click on the ''Download Free App'' button and follow the instructions for installation.
#When you open the app you will be asked to enter an email address and password. Remember these for connecting to your Hubitat Elevation hub.
#Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your circle, home location and any family members you want in your circle.

Now it’s time to connect your Life 360 account to your hub.

#Load the Life 360 Connector app in your Hubitat Web Interface.
#Click ''Life360 Login Credentials''.

This means they will all turn on/off, change level, and change color together using a single "group device" in our rule-building apps or in Alexa. In addition to making rules easier, the Zigbee Group Messaging option allows you to group zigbee lights together to eliminate the "popcorn effect" when you turn them on.

'''Scenes''' are used to capture a group of devices in their unique states. Once that scene is captured, Hubitat Elevation™ can activate the scene to return those the devices back to this captured state when you desire. This new scene is turned into a virtual device that is activated using rules or Alexa commands.

Now that your devices are selected you need to capture the state of those devices as you want them in the scene. If you go into your the Devices page in your Hubitat Web Interface, you'll notice two new devices have been added. One is the name of Scene you just created. The the other is the name of the scene you created followed by "capture." You can use this second device to capture the state of your devices to build your scene.

You can also activate your scene using Alexa. If the scene Switch is turned off, all of the member devices are turned off. There is an option for a Scene when activated to push a button of a button device, such as a keypad. This is useful for activating scenes (phantom buttons) in a Lutron system.

== Cloning a Scene ==

Often times in a room, you may want to use the same devices to created different scenes. Perhaps in an office you may want to use the same lights, but with a dimmer setting in the evening. This is where cloning comes in so handy. You can clone a scene you already have, give it a new name and a new capture device will be created with the same devices as the original scene. Then you can adjust the device settings, turn on the newly created capture device and voila, your new scene is set.

Here's how set up your cloned scene:

#Open the Groups and Scenes app in your Hubitat Web Interface.
#Select the scene you would like to clone from the aptly named ''Select a Scene to Clone'' drop down menu. A copy of scene will be created as a child app in the Apps page.
#Click ''Done''
#You will now be back at the Apps page. Scroll down to the Groups and Scenes app and look for the ''[Scene Name] copy'' app that was just created. Click on it.
#When you are in the scene, click ''Get Clone Values''. This will populate the scene with all of the devices and settings from the cloned app.
#Rename your scene
#Now you have the opportunity to remove or add devices and change your restrictions. When you are satisfied with your new scenes setting, click ''done''.

Now that your scene is created, follow the instructions for capturing and activating your scene in the above section.
