Before you can join your devices to your Hubitat Elevation™ hub, you must first remove them from the previous hub or bridge. While Zigbee devices can simply be removed and put into Paring Mode using the manufacturer's instructions, Z-Wave devices must be Excluded from their previous network before joining a new one. Exclusion will happen automatically when the device is removed from Hubitat Elevation™, however it is recommend that Z-Wave devices always be factory reset as well. If a device cannot be factory reset, or is in an unknown state, then it is recommended to do a General Exclusion in your Hubitat Elevation™ hub to be sure it isn't joined to the former Z-Wave mesh. If Hubitat doesn't show Unknown Device Excluded in the log, then the General Exclusion has failed and the device probably won't be able to be joined. Schlage BE469 Lock
Factory Reset
- Disconnect the batteries.
- Press and hold the Outside Schlage Button.
- While holding the Outside Schlage Button, then reconnect the batteries.
- Release the Outside Schlage Button. NOTE: If you are moving the lock to a new door, install the lock on that door before continuing.
- To check that the lock was reset, press the Outside Schlage Button and enter one of the Default User Codes.
- If the reset was successful, the lock will perform a setup routine. Wait until the bolt stops moving. The reset and setup are complete.
Join the Z-Wave Network
- From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select "Z-Wave", then "Start Z-Wave Pairing" on the Device Discovery page.

- Press the Schlage button
- Enter the 6 digit programming code
- Press 0
- A √ indicates the lock successfully joined the Z-Wave network, while an X indicates that it did not successfully join the network
Verify Z-Wave connection status from the lock
- Remove the battery cover
- Disconnect the battery connector
- While watching the inside Schlage button, reconnect the battery connector
- The inside Schlage button will blink if the lock is enrolled
Exclusion from the Z-Wave Network
- From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select "Z-Wave", then "Start Z-Wave Exclusion" on the Device Discovery page.

- Press the Schlage button
- Enter the 6 digit programming code
- Press 0
- A √ indicates the lock was successfully excluded the Z-Wave network, while an X indicates that it did not successfully leave the networ

- Unplug switch from outlet
- Press and hold the manual/program button on the switch for at least three seconds while you plug the switch into an outlet
Join the Z-Wave Network
- From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select "Z-Wave", then "Start Z-Wave Pairing" on the Device Discovery page.

- Press the manual/program button once
Exclusion from the Z-Wave Network
- From the device's details page, click "Remove Device", then "Remove"
- Press the manual/program button on the switch once
