Before you can join your devices to your Hubitat Elevation™ hub, you must first remove them from the previous hub or bridge. While Zigbee devices can simply be removed and put into Paring Mode using the manufacturer's instructions, Z-Wave devices must be Excluded from their previous network before joining a new one. Exclusion will happen automatically when the device is removed from Hubitat Elevation™, however it is recommend that Z-Wave devices always be factory reset as well. If a device cannot be factory reset, or is in an unknown state, then it is recommended to do a General Exclusion in your Hubitat Elevation™ hub to be sure it isn't joined to the former Z-Wave mesh. Typically the same button on the device for inclusion is also used for exclusion. If Hubitat doesn't show Unknown Device Excluded in the log, then the General Exclusion has failed and the device probably won't be able to be joined. ADT Water Leak Detector

Factory Reset

  1. Remove the cover by rotating it counterclockwise
  2. Press and hold the Connect button for 5 seconds
  3. After the button is released, the LED will blink quickly for a few seconds, go dark for a few seconds, then blink slowly to indicate it is in pairing mode.
    • Battery powered Zigbee devices often pair easier when their batteries are removed for 10 seconds following a factory reset.

Join the Zigbee Network

  1. Remove the cover by rotating it counterclockwise
  2. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Pairing on the Device Discovery page.
  3. Press and hold the Connect button for 5 seconds
  4. After the button is released, the LED will blink quickly for a few seconds, go dark for a few seconds, then blink slowly to indicate it is in pairing mode

Leaving the Zigbee Network

  1. From the device's details page, select Remove Device, then Remove.

Factory Reset

  1. Use the provided pin to press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds.
    • Battery powered Zigbee devices often pair easier when their batteries are removed for 10 seconds following a factory reset.

Join the Zigbee Network

  1. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Pairing on the Device Discovery page.
  2. Use the provided pin to press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds.

Leaving the Zigbee Network

  1. From the device's details page, select Remove Device, then Remove.

AduroSmart ERIA Dimmer Switch

Factory Reset

  1. Hold down the two middle buttons until the light flashes green. A red flash indicates an unsuccessful reset.
    • Battery powered Zigbee devices often pair easier when their batteries are removed for 10 seconds following a factory reset.

Join the Zigbee Network

  1. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Pairing on the Device Discovery page.
  2. Hold down the off (circle) button for 10 seconds until it blinks green 3 times.

Leaving the Zigbee Network

  1. From the device's details page, select Remove Device, then Remove.

AduroSmart ERIA Motion Sensor

Factory Reset

  1. Use the provided pin to press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds.
    • Battery powered Zigbee devices often pair easier when their batteries are removed for 10 seconds following a factory reset.

Join the Zigbee Network

  1. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Pairing on the Device Discovery page.
  2. Use the provided pin to press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds.

Leaving the Zigbee Network

  1. From the device's details page, select Remove Device, then Remove.

Aeotec Door/Window Sensor Gen5

Factory Reset

  1. Press and hold the Action Button for 20 seconds and Status LED will be solid for 2 seconds to confirm a success.

Join the Z-Wave Network

  1. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Pairing on the Device Discovery page.
  2. Press the Action Button once to include the door/window sensor.

Exclusion from the Z-Wave Network

  1. From the device's details page, select Remove Device, then Remove
  2. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Exclusion on the Device Discovery page.
  3. Press the Action Button on your Sensor.
  4. If your Door Window Sensor has been successfully removed from your Z-Wave network, its Status LED will fast blink for 8 seconds and then slow blink for 3 seconds when you press the Action Button again.
  5. If the removal was unsuccessful, the Status LED will fast blink for 2 seconds and then be solid for 2 seconds when you press the Action Button, repeat the above steps.

Aeotec Nano Switch ZW116 (with energy reading)

Factory Reset

  1. Press and hold the Action Button for 20 seconds and then release it.
  2. Your Nano Switch will now be reset to its original settings, and the green LED will be solid for 2 seconds and then remain the colorful gradient status as a confirmation.

Join the Z-Wave Network

  1. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Pairing on the Device Discovery page.
  2. Press the Action Button once on the Nano Switch.
  3. If inclusion is successful, the green LED will be on for 2 seconds, and then return to a solid indication. If inclusion is unsuccessful, the red LED will be on for 2 seconds and then return to a colorful gradient.

Exclusion from the Z-Wave Network

  1. From the device's details page, select Remove Device, then Remove
  2. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Exclusion on the Device Discovery page.
  3. Press the Action Button on the Nano Switch once or toggle the external manual switch 3 times in fast succession.
  4. If the Nano Switch has been successfully removed from your Z-Wave network, its RGB LED will remain colorful gradient. If the removal was unsuccessful, the RGB LED will still be solid (following the state of the output load).

Aeotec Nano Switch ZW139 (without energy reading)

Factory Reset

  1. Press and hold the Action Button for 20 seconds and then release it.
  2. Your Nano Switch will now be reset to its original settings, and the green LED will be solid for 2 seconds and then remain the colorful gradient status as a confirmation.

Join the Z-Wave Network

  1. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Pairing on the Device Discovery page.
  2. Press the Action Button once on the Nano Switch.
  3. If inclusion is successful, the green LED will be on for 2 seconds, and then return to a solid indication. If inclusion is unsuccessful, the red LED will be on for 2 seconds and then return to a colorful gradient.

Exclusion from the Z-Wave Network

  1. From the device's details page, select Remove Device, then Remove
  2. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Exclusion on the Device Discovery page.
  3. Press the Action Button on the Nano Switch once or toggle the external manual switch 3 times in fast succession.
  4. If the Nano Switch has been successfully removed from your Z-Wave network, its RGB LED will remain colorful gradient. If the removal was unsuccessful, the RGB LED will still be solid (following the state of the output load).

Aeotec WallMote Quad ZW130

Factory Reset

  1. Press and hold the Action button (20 seconds).
  2. The LED should blink between green, purple, then red which will flash rapidly until a green LED becomes solid for 2 seconds to indicate a successful factory reset.
  3. Let go of the Action Button.

Join the Z-Wave Network

  1. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Pairing on the Device Discovery page.
  2. Press the Action Button once on WallMote Quad to include it.
  3. The green LED will be on for 2 seconds and then the orange LED will fast blink for 10 minutes (if the WallMote Quad does not receive the Wake Up No More Info command from primary Controller) to indicate the inclusion is successful.

Exclusion from the Z-Wave Network

  1. From the device's details page, select Remove Device, then Remove
  2. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Exclusion on the Device Discovery page.
  3. Press the Action Button on your WallMote Quad.
  4. If your WallMote Quad is successfully removed from the Z-Wave network, the LED will become a colorful gradient for a few seconds and then turn off. If the removal was unsuccessful, the red LED will be solid for 2 seconds and then turn off, repeat the above steps.

Fibaro Wall Plug FGWPB & FGWPE

Factory Reset

  1. Press and hold the button located on the side.
  2. The device will cycle through GREEN, then VIOLET, and finally YELLOW for device reset.
  3. Release the button.
  4. Press the button again to confirm the selection and factory reset the device.

Join the Z-Wave Network

  1. Plug the device into a socket nearby the main Z-Wave controller.
  2. The LED frame will glow red signaling not being added (reset or remove the device otherwise).
  3. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Pairing on the Device Discovery page.
  4. Quickly, triple click the button on the side of the device.

Exclusion from the Z-Wave Network

  1. From the device's details page, select Remove Device, then Remove
  2. Plug the device into a socket nearby the main Z-Wave controller.
  3. The LED frame will glow green signaling being added (removing is not necessary otherwise).
  4. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Exclusion on the Device Discovery page.
  5. Quickly, triple click the button on the side of the device.

First Alert ZCOMBO-G

Factory Reset

  1. Power up the device with the test button held down for 10+ seconds
  2. The device will reset all Z-Wave settings and leave the network. NOTE: The device will not remain awake after resetting and will go into standby mode.

Join the Z-Wave Network

  1. Slide battery door open and insert batteries.
  2. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Pairing on the Device Discovery page.
  3. Press and hold the test button. Keep it held down as you slide the battery drawer closed. You may then release the button and the alarm will remain awake for 30 seconds on inclusion.

Exclusion from the Z-Wave Network

  1. From the device's details page, select Remove Device, then Remove
  2. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Exclusion on the Device Discovery page.
  3. Slide battery door open, then remove and re-insert batteries.
  4. Press and hold the test button. Keep it held down as you slide the battery drawer closed. You may then release the button and the alarm will be excluded from the network.

GE/Jasco Plug-in Dimmer 12718

Factory Reset

  1. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Exclusion on the Device Discovery page.
  2. Single press and release the manual/program button on the device to perform a general exclusion.
    • 12xxx series devices do not support factory reset from the device. A Z-Wave general exclusion is the only option.

Join the Z-Wave Network

  1. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Pairing on the Device Discovery page.
  2. Single press and release the manual/program button on the device to include it in the network.

    • 12xxx series devices do not support factory reset from the device. A Z-Wave general exclusion is the only option.

Factory Reset

  1. Unplug the switch from the outlet
  2. Press and hold the manual/program button on the switch for at least three seconds while you plug the switch into an outlet

  1. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Pairing on the Device Discovery page.
  2. Single press and release the manual/program button on the device to include it in the network.

Exclusion from the Z-Wave Network

  1. From the device's details page, select Remove Device, then Remove
  2. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Exclusion on the Device Discovery page.
  3. Single press and release the manual/program button on the device to exclude it from the network.

GE/Jasco Z-Wave Plus In-Wall Fan Control 14287

Factory Reset

  1. Quickly press ON (Top) button three (3) times then immediately press the OFF (Bottom) button three (3) times.
  2. The LED will flash ON/OFF 5 times when completed successfully.

Join the Z-Wave Network

  1. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Pairing on the Device Discovery page.
  2. Press and release the top or bottom of the wireless fan control rocker to add it in the network.

Exclusion from the Z-Wave Network

  1. From the device's details page, select Remove Device, then Remove
  2. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Exclusion on the Device Discovery page.
  3. Press and release the top or bottom of the wireless smart fan control rocker to exclude it from the network.
    • Note: While some switches have a small tab to pull out, commonly referred to as an Air Gap, certain older GE switches do not disable power to the internal Z-Wave radio when the air gap is pulled. In such cases, where a mains powered device is refusing to join Hubitat Elevation™, try Z-Wave Exclude and then cut the power at the breaker box for 30 seconds before attempting the discovery procedure again.

Factory Reset

  1. Press the manual/program button 3 times, then press and hold the button for at least 3 seconds. The LED will blink 5 times to confirm.

Factory Reset

  1. If plugged in, unplug the Dimmer from the receptacle.
  2. Press and hold the top button for at least 3 seconds while you plug the dimmer into a receptacle.

Join the Z-Wave Network

  1. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Pairing on the Device Discovery page.
  2. Single press and release the manual/program button on the device to include it in the network.

Exclusion from the Z-Wave Network

  1. From the device's details page, select Remove Device, then Remove
  2. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Exclusion on the Device Discovery page.
  3. Single press and release the manual/program button on the device to exclude it from the network.

GoControl GD00Z Series Garage Door Controllers

Includes Linear GD00Z-2, GoControl GD00Z-4, Linear GD00Z-5, ADT GD00Z-6, GoControl GD00Z-7 and NuTone ND00Z

Factory Reset

  1. Reset the controller by pressing the Link button 5 times.
  2. A quick beep followed by a longer beep will indicate proper reset of the GD00Z series or ND00Z.

Join the Z-Wave Network

  1. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Pairing on the Device Discovery page.
  2. Press and release the Link button.

Exclusion from the Z-Wave Network

  1. From the device's details page, select Remove Device, then Remove
  2. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Exclusion on the Device Discovery page.
  3. Press and release the Link button.

GoControl WADWAZ-1 Door / Window Sensor

Factory Reset

  1. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Exclusion on the Device Discovery page.
  2. Press the program switch of WADWAZ-1 for 1 second and release. The LED light will flash continuously when the sensor has been successfully excluded.

Join the Z-Wave Network

  1. Unscrew the screw fastening the rear cover and slide the rear cover down
  2. Insert a CR123A battery into the battery compartment and LED will start to flash slowly, which means the sensor has not yet performed inclusion with the controller.
  3. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Pairing on the Device Discovery page.
  4. Once Hubitat Elevation™ discovers the device, the LED will stop blinking. If the LED does not stop blinking and is not discovered by your hub, relocate the WADWAZ-1 to within 100 feet (line of sight) of a Z-Wave repeater or your hub and restart Z-Wave pairing.

Exclusion from the Z-Wave Network

  1. From the device's details page, select Remove Device, then Remove
  2. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Exclusion on the Device Discovery page.
  3. Press the program switch of WADWAZ-1 for 1 second and release. The LED light will flash continuously when the sensor has been successfully excluded.

Kwikset 910 & 914 Z-Wave Lock

Factory Reset

  1. Remove battery pack
  2. Press and HOLD the Program button while reinserting the battery pack. Keep holding the button for 30 seconds until the lock beeps and the status LED flashes red.
  3. Press the Program button once more. When the LED flashes green and you hear one beep, the lock has been reset.
  4. Perform the door handing process again.
    • Press and hold the Lock button while installing battery pack.
    • Hold button until the latch bolt starts moving on its own. If the latch bolt retract and extend on its own when the battery pack was installed, then the handing process was successful.
    • If the latch bolt does not retract and extend on its own, remove the battery pack and wait 15 seconds, before attempting the handing process again.

Join the Z-Wave Network

  1. Hold the interior assembly a maximum of 12" (305 mm) from your Z-Wave controller
  2. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Pairing on the Device Discovery page.
  3. Press button A on the lock one time to include it. The controller and lock must remain stationary for a total of 60 seconds during the Inclusion process.
  4. If Inclusion is unsuccessful, go to the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Exclusion on the Device Discovery page.
  5. Press button A on the lock one time. Once the lock is fully Excluded from the system, repeat the Inclusion process.

Exclusion from the Z-Wave Network

  1. From the device's details page, select Remove Device, then Remove
  2. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Exclusion on the Device Discovery page.
  3. Press button A on the lock one time. Once the lock is fully Excluded from the system. The controller and lock must remain stationary for a total of 60 seconds during the Inclusion process.

Kwikset 910 & 914 Zigbee Lock

Factory Reset

  1. Remove battery pack

Leaving the Zigbee Network

  1. From the device's details page, select Remove Device, then Remove.
  2. Press button B on the lock 9 times.

Lutron VRCS4

Factory Reset

  1. On the 4-Scene controller, press and hold buttons 1 and 3.
  2. Wait approximately 5 seconds until the LED turns amber and then solid red.
  3. Release the buttons and the 4-Scene controller will be reset. NOTE: Factory reset does not exclude the device from any previous networks it has joined. The exclusion process must still be performed separately.

Radio Thermostat Company of America CT-101

Factory Reset

  1. The thermostat must be in OFF mode.
  2. Wait until the radio wave icons on the left side of the screen stop blinking then touch the screen once to turn on the back light and then hold the center of the screen for about 8 seconds until the thermostat beeps.

Join the Z-Wave Network

  1. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Pairing on the Device Discovery page.
  2. Press/Touch the MATE button on the MENU screen. A large r1 will be displayed.
  3. This will bring you to the network include screen. Confirm by touching MATE again to initiate the mating process. The MATE icon and the status indicator LEDs will blink.
  4. When a device has joined a network the LINK icon will appear under the radio tower.

Exclusion from the Z-Wave Network

  1. From the device's details page, select Remove Device, then Remove
  2. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Exclusion on the Device Discovery page.
  3. Press/Touch the MATE button on the MENU screen. A large r1 will be displayed.
  4. This will bring you to the network include screen. Confirm by touching MATE again to initiate the mating process. The MATE icon and the status indicator LEDs will blink.
  5. When a device has excluded from the network, the LINK icon will disappear under the radio tower.

Schlage BE469 Lock

Factory Reset

  1. Disconnect the batteries
  2. Press and hold the outside Schlage button
  3. While holding the outside Schlage button, then reconnect the batteries.
  4. Release the Outside Schlage Button. NOTE: If you are moving the lock to a new door, install the lock on that door before continuing.
  5. To check that the lock was reset, press the outside Schlage button and enter one of the Default User Codes.
  6. If the reset was successful, the lock will perform a setup routine. Wait until the bolt stops moving. The reset and setup are complete.

Join the Z-Wave Network

  1. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Pairing on the Device Discovery page.
  2. Press the Schlage button
  3. Enter the 6 digit programming code
  4. Press 0
  5. A √ indicates the lock successfully joined the Z-Wave network, while an X indicates that it did not successfully join the network

Verify Z-Wave connection status from the lock

  1. Remove the battery cover
  2. Disconnect the battery connector
  3. While watching the inside Schlage button, reconnect the battery connector
  4. The inside Schlage button will blink if the lock is enrolled

Exclusion from the Z-Wave Network

  1. From the device's details page, select Remove Device, then Remove
  2. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Exclusion on the Device Discovery page.
  3. Press the Schlage button
  4. Enter the 6 digit programming code
  5. Press 0
  6. A √ indicates the lock was successfully excluded the Z-Wave network, while an X indicates that it did not successfully leave the network

Utilitech Indoor Siren TSE07

Factory Reset

  1. Remove the battery cover
  2. Press the pairing button in between the batteries 8 times, one second apart

Join the Z-Wave Network

  1. Remove the battery cover
  2. From the Hubitat Web Interface home page, select Z-Wave, then Start Z-Wave Pairing on the Device Discovery page.
  3. Press the paring button once
